Water Tribute Urns

Biodegradable urns for sea, lake and river ceremonies, handmade in Florida from paper and natural fibers. Every kit includes a Certificate of Biodegradability.

How They Work

The urn floats for 30 seconds to 2 minutes with a full load, then begins to sink and dissolve. The biodegradable ashes bag inside dissolves in one to two minutes, and the urn itself is gone within a week in water. Our guide to biodegradable urns for water burial explains what you will actually see during the ceremony, and how long the urn takes to dissolve covers what happens after it disappears.

Handmade in West Palm Beach, Florida, from paper and natural fibers. No plastic, no metal, no wire.

Before the Ceremony

If the ceremony is at sea, the EPA rules are simpler than most families expect: 3 nautical miles from land, materials that decompose, and one report filed within 30 days. If you are flying to the location, read flying with ashes first, because the urn should not travel in your luggage.

For the moment itself, our ceremony words and readings are the ones families come back to most.
