About Pachamama Tributes
How Grief Became Purpose
Pachamama was born from a farewell I wasn't ready for.
When my mother passed away, she left one simple wish: to be cremated and have her ashes scattered in a green field. No elaborate ceremony, no formal service — just nature, simplicity, and space. It sounded so clear when she said it. But when the moment came to fulfill that wish, I realized I had no idea how to do it.
How do you carry someone's ashes? How do you open the bag? Do you use your hands? Do you turn the urn upside down? I didn't know. And in the middle of grief, not knowing felt unbearable.
It was a year and a half before my brothers and I were able to be together in Argentina to scatter her ashes. During that wait, something began to take shape in me. I kept thinking about all the families facing this same moment — standing at the water's edge or in a quiet field, holding someone they love, unsure of what to do next.
I didn't want anyone to feel as lost as I felt.
And so I created Pachamama — a kit designed to hold families gently through their farewell, so they could focus on what matters most: the ceremony, the memory, the love.

What Pachamama Means
Pachamama means "Mother Earth" in Quechua, the indigenous language of the Andes. It's a name that carries the belief that we come from the earth and we return to it — that the cycle of life is not a line with an end, but a circle that holds us all.
Every urn I create reflects that belief. Handcrafted from biodegradable materials, designed to float briefly on the water before gently sinking and dissolving completely — or to be buried in the soil where wildflowers bloom. Nothing is left behind but the memory of a moment made with love.
What We Create
Pachamama is more than urns. Each product is a complete ceremony experience — because I believe that how you say goodbye matters just as much as where.
Water Tribute Urns — Biodegradable urns for ocean, lake, and river farewells. Each kit includes the handcrafted urn with a tissue paper flower, a biodegradable ashes bag, dried flower confetti, step-by-step ceremony instructions, a curated farewell music playlist, and a Certificate of Biodegradability for cruise ship ceremonies.
Cruise Farewell Urns — The same beautiful kits, designed and certified for ceremonies aboard Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, Celebrity, Princess, Holland America, and other major cruise lines.
Burial Urns with Flower Seeds — Biodegradable urns designed to be buried in soil, where they decompose and allow wildflowers to bloom in your loved one's honor. A living memorial that grows over time.
Pet Memorial Kits — Keepsake urns for beloved dogs and cats, with a natural wood-look finish, candle holder, cotton ashes bag, and optional photo frame and engraved name tag. Because pets are family, and their farewells deserve the same care.
Keepsake Urns — Small urns for families who want to keep a portion of ashes close at home, while sharing the rest among loved ones or releasing them in nature.
Ceremony Message Papers and Dried Rose Petal Bags — Biodegradable ceremony accessories that allow every family member to participate in the farewell with their own gesture of love.
Handcrafted in Florida
Every Pachamama urn is handcrafted in West Palm Beach, Florida. The tissue paper flowers are shaped by hand. The cotton cords are tied one by one. The kits are assembled with intention — because I know that the box someone opens in the hardest moment of their life should feel like it was made with care. Because it was.
I'm originally from Argentina, from a city called Mar del Plata where the ocean meets the sierras. The spirit of both worlds — the warmth of South America and the beauty of Florida's coastline — lives in everything I create.
What Families Say
The words that mean the most to me come from the families who have trusted Pachamama for their farewell:
Nichole shared: "There are honestly no words to describe just how wonderful Virginia is. She helped me so much, to make sure I got this in time to spread my Mom's ashes. I highly recommend this shop."
Tammy wrote: "This urn was just perfect. Gave us enough time to say goodbye, as the ashes quietly and gently merged into the lake overlooking her favorite mountain."
Ron said: "The Seller is amazing. As those of us needing an urn understand, the occasion is not a happy one and we want someone to care. Virginia cares deeply."
And Marcy, after reading my story, wrote: "I feel as though I'm talking with an old friend when we converse. You're truly special."
Every review, every message, every family — I carry them with me. They remind me why this work matters.
Our Commitment to the Earth
Sustainability is not a marketing word for Pachamama — it's the foundation. Every material in our urns is biodegradable. No plastics, no metals, no toxins. Our urns dissolve completely in water within a week, or decompose in soil, returning to the earth as gently as they were made.
We believe that a farewell should honor not only the person you love but also the planet they lived on. Choosing biodegradable means choosing to leave nothing behind but love.
Giving Back: El Faro
A portion of every Pachamama purchase supports El Faro, an organization that provides companionship to people at the end of their lives and trains compassionate caregivers. This cause is deeply personal to me — because I know that the way someone is accompanied in their final days shapes the way their family remembers them forever.
